Message from the Director-DRCPPS
The directorate was established in 2011 by the University under the article 27 rule 25 of the University charter (2010) in order to coordinate research, consultancy, publications and postgraduate studies. The directorate is headed by a director who is answerable to the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs (DVCAA). The director is assisted by the coordinators of two units, the Unit of Post Graduate Studies and the Unit of Research, Consultancy and Publications. The directorate is responsible for harnessing and co-coordinating research efforts of all researchers and academicians within the university and in the community as well. It also forges intra and inter-institutional collaboration in research, solicitation of research funds, co-ordination of the dissemination of research findings, publication of scholarly journals and management of consultancy activities. It co-ordinates postgraduate programmes in terms of; admissions, delivery of approved programmes and practical field studies.

Objectives of the Directorate
- To equip students with appropriate knowledge and skills in their postgraduate areas of specialization
- To instil in students the spirit of independent scientific study, innovation and search for knowledge and skills.
- To instil in students high standards of scientific professional conduct and a sense of responsibility and accountability in whatever they think and do in their postgraduate studies.
- To enable students develop critical thinking and analytical skills, judgement and participate in development activities.
- To enable students use computer and internet in writing their research papers and theses, and use computer, internet and their various tools for life-long learning and working.
- To coordinate consultancy services to faculties/departments and units.
- To solicit consultancy work from national and international institutions.
- To prepare proposals to solicit grants from national and international institutions.
- To solicit research grants from national and international institutions.
- To prepare ansd conduct short courses, seminars and workshops.
Postgraduate Studies Programmes
Currently, this unit has two masters’ degree programmes which are under review and one proposed PhD programme. These include: Master of Education (MED) and Master of Theology (MTH), and PhD in Theology by Thesis.
Research, Consultancy and Publications Units
Currently, this unit involves various activities in collaboration with academic staff members such as research, consultancy and publications. This unit has registered the university online journal named as TEKU JOURNAL OF INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES (TJIS) which expects to publish its first volume soon.
